How to play Number Ninja
You have 90 seconds to solve as many puzzles as you can. Quick sums and balance scales want a number: type it and the answer checks itself. Missing-sign puzzles want the plus, minus, times or divide that makes the line true. Duels show two sums, and you pick the bigger side or say they are equal.
Make-target puzzles give you four numbers and a target. Tap a number, a sign and another number to merge them into one, and keep going until all four are used. A wrong answer costs 4 seconds, or 3 on a Target puzzle. Right answers in a row raise your multiplier by one step every three answers, up to five times.
Belts and ranks
Every round adds XP, and XP moves you up ten ranks, from White Belt to Shadow Master. Each new belt brings harder material: division duels, two-digit numbers, negative numbers, three-term chains, decimals, two missing signs and big multiplications. The results screen shows a tier for that round's score, from Apprentice to Grandmaster, with your accuracy, speed and results for each puzzle type.
When time runs out, a short ad can keep the round going for 20 more seconds with your streak intact, once per round, or double the round's score and XP. The score is for fun. It is not an IQ test.
Tips and tricks
- Target puzzles are worth the most points. If one has you stuck, skipping it costs only 2 seconds.
- In a duel, estimate both sides first. Only work them out exactly when they look close.
- Guard the streak. A five-times multiplier is worth more than a fast but sloppy answer.
- You can watch a short ad for 15 more seconds, or for one step of a Target solution, twice each per round. Skip it and you get nothing, but the button stays so you can try again.
FAQ
Is Number Ninja free?
Yes. It is free to play in your browser, with no download and no account.
Can I play on a phone or tablet?
Yes. An on-screen keypad and buttons cover every puzzle type, so no keyboard is needed.
What happens when I get one wrong?
The clock loses 4 seconds, or 3 on a Target puzzle, and your streak resets, so the multiplier starts again from one.
