Swipe, or tap a side of the board, to tilt the vault. On a keyboard use the arrow keys or WASD. U or Z undoes a move, H shows a hint, R resets and L opens the vault list. P or Esc pauses.

How to play Tilt Vault

Every tilt slides all the loose pieces on the board in one direction, and each piece keeps going until it hits a wall or another piece. Your goal is to slide the green gem into the round gold vault door on the edge of the board.

You can’t move one piece at a time, so the puzzle is all about the order of your tilts: one direction might line the gem up while pushing a key or boulder somewhere you don’t want it.

Keys, holes, boulders and ice

Round holes swallow whatever slides into them. If the gem falls in, the attempt is over and you have to rewind; a key that falls in is lost. A padlock opens when a key slides into it. A heavy boulder fills a hole, and both disappear, leaving the way clear.

Boulders are heavy: on plain stone they stop after a single tile, but on ice they keep sliding like everything else. Some vaults hold two gems and you need to steal them both. Finish in par tilts or fewer for three stars.

Tips and tricks

• Work backwards from the vault door: find the last tilt that carries the gem through it, then work out how to get the gem into that line.
• Walls and other pieces are your brakes. A piece sitting against a wall stays put, so you can park it to stop another piece exactly where you want.
• If the game says the vault is jammed, no sequence of tilts can win any more, so undo or reset straight away.
• Every vault gives you one free undo. After that, a short ad rewinds three moves (up to twice per vault), and a hint ad shows which way to tilt next (up to three per vault).
