Controls

Hold the GAS pedal on the right side of the screen to drive and the BRAKE pedal on the left to slow down or reverse. On a keyboard use the Right or Up arrow, or D or W, for gas and the Left or Down arrow, or A or S, for brake. P or Esc pauses.

How to play Fuel Fumes

Your little jeep starts at the bottom of a hill with a full tank. Hold gas to climb and see how far you get before the fuel gauge in the top corner runs dry. Distance in metres is your score.

Fuel drains all the time and faster while you are on the gas. Red fuel cans float above the ground along the way: drive through one to fill the tank. Coins sit in arcs on the hills, and the further you go, the more each coin is worth.

Air control and the garage

The hills are bumpy and you will spend plenty of time in the air. While airborne, gas tilts the jeep back and brake tilts it forward, so you can level out before you land on both wheels. If the driver’s head touches the ground, the run is over.

Coins are banked at the end of every run. Spend them in the garage on four upgrades, each with six levels: Engine for power and top speed, Suspension for softer landings, Tires for grip on steep hills, and Fuel tank for longer runs. The scenery changes as you climb through Sunset Meadow, Copper Canyon, Frost Peaks and Neon Night.

Tips and tricks

• Keep an eye on the “next can” distance under the fuel gauge and plan your run around the next refill.
• Ease off the gas on big jumps. Tilt in the air so the jeep lands on both wheels, not on its nose.
• Coins add up fast. Early upgrades to the fuel tank and engine make the biggest difference to how far you go.
• When the tank runs dry you can watch a short ad once per run for a full refuel. After a flip you can watch one to get back on your wheels.
• After a run, you can watch an ad in the garage to double the coins from your last run.
