Controls
Drag anywhere on the screen and the ship copies the movement of your finger, so your finger never covers it. With a mouse, the ship follows the cursor. Your guns fire on their own. Keys: arrows or WASD fly, hold Shift for slower, precise moves. P or Esc pauses.
How to play Starfall Squadron
Your ship fires on its own, so all you do is fly. Waves of fighters, mines and asteroids come down the screen, and many of them shoot back. Only the small glowing core in the middle of your ship can be hit, which lets you slip through gaps that look too narrow. Each hit costs one point of hull and one weapon level. Lose all your hull and the mission is over.
Golden carriers drop power-ups. P raises your weapon level, up to four. S, L and B switch to spread shot, a laser beam or the twin blaster, and picking up the one you already have levels it up. M adds homing missiles, D adds two wing drones, the shield takes one hit for you and the cross repairs your hull.
Sectors, bosses and the Hangar
There are 24 missions in four sectors: Cobalt Reach, Crimson Nebula, Toxic Expanse and Void Crown. Every sixth mission is a boss fight against a giant ship that changes its attacks as it takes damage, from the Bastion Warden to the Eclipse Core. Red warning lines show where a laser is about to fire.
Quick kills build a score multiplier of up to eight times, and grazing enemy bullets without getting hit adds points. You earn stars for taking one hit or less and for beating the par score. Coins collected in missions pay for permanent Hangar upgrades: more hull, a stronger starting cannon, a bigger coin magnet and longer-lasting power-ups.
Tips and tricks
- Watch the core, not the ship. Bullets that pass over the wings do no harm.
- Stay low and move in small steps. Holding Shift on a keyboard helps you thread tight bullet patterns.
- Keep the kills coming. A gap of a couple of seconds between kills lets the multiplier drop back to one.
- You can watch a short ad to revive with a full hull once per mission, to double the coins from a cleared mission, or for 150 coins in the Hangar. Skip it and you get nothing, but the button stays so you can try again.
FAQ
Is Starfall Squadron free?
Yes. It is free to play in your browser, with no download and no account.
Can I play on a phone or tablet?
Yes. Drag anywhere on the screen and the ship copies the movement, so your finger never hides it. Firing is automatic, so one finger is enough.
Why did a bullet pass through my ship?
Only the glowing core in the middle of the ship counts as a hit. Bullets that cross the wings or the nose miss you.
Is my progress saved?
