Drag left or right anywhere on the screen to carve. Hold the TUCK button, or drag down while steering, to tuck for speed. Keys: Left and Right arrows or A and D steer, Down, S or Space tuck. P or Esc pauses.
How to play Slalom Rush
You race down the slope from behind your skier. Gates come in red and blue, one after the other, and you pass between the two poles of each. A missed gate does not stop you, but it adds three seconds to your time. Your time at the bottom, with any penalties, decides the medal.
Tucking makes you faster but you turn less, so tuck on the straights and stand up to carve through tight gates. Trees end the run if you hit them. Rocks and snowmen knock your speed down and make you stumble. Jumps and bumps throw you into the air, green boost pads give a burst of speed, ice makes the skis slide and deep powder slows you down.
Courses, medals and your ghost
There are 24 courses in four legs of six: Alpine Morning, Golden Hour, floodlit Night Lights and Blizzard Peak, where gusts of wind push you sideways. New things arrive one at a time, such as boost pads, powder, snowmen and quick triple gates. Each course has gold, silver and bronze times worked out from a clean run of that course, and a medal of any color opens the next one.
Your best medal run is saved as a ghost skier. Next time you race that course the ghost skis beside you, and at every gate you see how far ahead or behind you are.
Tips and tricks
- Aim for the far side of each gate early. Turning late costs more time than the extra distance.
- Tuck on every straight and on boost pads, and let go just before a sharp turn.
- Trees, rocks and snowmen sit beside the straight line from one gate to the next, not on it. A clean line between gates keeps you out of trouble.
- If you crash into a tree, or finish just outside bronze, you can watch a short ad to restart from the last gate or take five seconds off your time. Skip it and you get nothing, but the button stays so you can try again.
