Controls
Drag left or right to move on the approach. Swipe up to roll: the direction aims, the speed is power, and a curved swipe puts hook on the ball. Keys: Left and Right arrows move, A and D aim, Q and E set hook, hold Space and release for power. P or Esc pauses.
How to play Strike Alley
Drag left or right to stand where you want on the approach, then swipe up to send the ball. A straight swipe rolls straight. Curve the swipe and the ball hooks. Speed is power: a lazy swipe dies in the oil, a fast one can fly past the pocket.
Scoring is real 10-frame bowling. A strike is 10 plus the next two balls, a spare is 10 plus the next ball, and an open frame is just the pins you knocked down. The pocket sits between the head pin and the pin beside it.
Trick lanes
Besides a standard game there are 14 trick lanes. Sliders shove the ball, ramps jump it, oil grabs one side, and some frames start as a split. Each lane has a target score. Beat it to clear the lane.
A bad roll can be taken again. Twice a game you can watch a short ad to set the pins back up and bowl that ball again.
Tips and tricks
- Stand a little off centre and hook back into the pocket. A ball rolled at the head pin from the middle often leaves a split.
- On an oily lane, give the ball more speed or it dies before the pins.
- Mark the corner pins on a spare. Power matters less than starting on the right board.
- If you skip a re-roll ad you get nothing, but the button stays so you can try again.
FAQ
Is Strike Alley free?
Yes. It is free to play in your browser, with no download and no account.
Can I play on a phone or tablet?
Yes. Drag to line up and swipe up to roll. Curve the swipe to hook the ball.
How do I bowl a strike?
Hook the ball into the pocket, between the 1 pin and the 3 pin for a right-hander. Too straight into the head pin leaves corners standing.
