Controls
Drag back from anywhere on the screen with the mouse or your finger and let go to shoot; the ball flies the opposite way to your drag, and a longer drag hits harder. On a keyboard, aim with the Left and Right arrows or A and D, set power with the Up and Down arrows or W and S (hold Shift for finer steps) and shoot with Space or Enter. M takes a mulligan. P or Esc pauses.
How to play Trick Shot Golf
Each hole is seen from the side, with the tee on one end and a flag on the other. Pull back from the ball like a slingshot and let go: the ring around the ball and the percentage above it show your power, and a line of white dots previews the first moments of the flight.
Wait for the ball to stop, then line up the next shot. Landing in water or leaving the course adds a penalty stroke and puts the ball back where you hit it from. Every hole has a stroke limit of par plus five. Reach it and you can pick up, which scores one stroke over the limit, or replay the hole.
The 18-hole course
The course runs in order: First Tee, Boing!, Up the Belt, Windmill, Water Carry, Seesaw, Fan Lift, Magnet Drop, Portal Putt, Pinball, Twin Mills, Belt Bounce, Seesaw Steps, Portal Maze, Headwind, Moving Isles, Canyon Run and Grand Contraption. Holes are par 2, 3 or 4, for a course par of 51.
Trampolines launch the ball high, conveyor belts carry it, windmill blades swat it, fans blow it up a duct or against you, magnets pull it in and then let go, seesaws tip under its weight, pink bumpers kick it away and an orange portal sends it out of a blue one. Under par earns three stars, par two and a bogey one. A scorecard tracks your round against par, and after hole 18 you see the course total and your best round before a new round starts at hole 1.
Tips and tricks
- Read the white dots before every shot. They show how the ball starts out and how it bounces off anything close by.
- Short drags make gentle putts. On a keyboard, hold Shift to fine-tune the aim and power.
- Windmills never stop, so wait for a gap between the blades before you shoot through.
- A magnet only pulls while the light on top is lit, and it drops the ball when the light goes out.
- Sand stops the ball fast. Use it as a brake near the cup, or fly over it.
- After a bad shot you can watch a short ad to take a mulligan: the shot and its stroke are erased, up to twice per hole.
FAQ
Is Trick Shot Golf free?
Yes. It is free to play in your browser, with no download and no account.
Can I play on a phone or tablet?
Yes. Drag back from anywhere on the screen with your finger and let go to shoot. It also plays in portrait, where the camera zooms to keep the ball and the hole in view.
What happens if my ball lands in the water?
You take a one-stroke penalty and the ball goes back to where you hit it from. Rolling off the course costs a stroke the same way.
Is my progress saved?
The hole you are on, your scorecard for the current round and your best round are saved in your browser on this device, so you can pick up the course where you left it.
