Controls
Drag down to draw the bow. Slide sideways while drawing to aim, and at full draw slide any direction to fine-aim, then release to shoot. Keys: arrows or WASD aim, hold Space to draw and release to shoot. P or Esc pauses.
How to play Wind Archer
Pull back to draw. The longer you hold, the harder the shot, until the bar is full. Slide sideways while you draw to move the aim, and once the bow is at full draw you can nudge it in any direction. Release to loose the arrow.
The reticle already allows for gravity. It does not allow for wind. Watch the flags and the wind gauge and aim upwind of where you want the arrow to land. Hold a full draw too long and the bow starts to shake.
Tournaments and balloons
A tournament is three arrows a round against a rival. Win three rounds and you lift that trophy. There are 11 tournaments, and later rivals shoot tighter groups in stronger wind. Lose a round and you can watch a short ad for one extra arrow.
Endless balloons is a separate range. Pop as many as you can. A golden balloon gives you two more arrows. Moving balloons need a lead: aim where they are going, not where they are.
Tips and tricks
- Let the flags settle before you commit. A gust mid-draw is easier to correct at full draw than at the start.
- Release just as the bar fills, before the shake starts.
- On a moving target, aim ahead by about the width of the target when the wind is light, and more when the flags are flat out.
- If you skip the extra-arrow ad you get nothing, but the button stays so you can try again.
FAQ
Is Wind Archer free?
Yes. It is free to play in your browser, with no download and no account.
Can I play on a phone or tablet?
Yes. Drag down to draw, slide to aim and lift your finger to shoot.
Why did my arrow miss a still target?
The aim mark allows for the drop of the arrow, not the wind. If the flags are blowing right, aim left of the centre.
Is my progress saved?
Your tournament trophies and your best balloon run are saved in your browser on this device.
