Controls
Tap a tool, then rub your finger or the mouse over the ground to dig. Drag each bone onto its shadow to build the skeleton. In the park, tap a dinosaur to make it jump and tap an egg to hatch it. Keys: 1 to 3 pick the shovel, brush or pick, arrows move and Space digs. When building, arrows choose a bone and Space or Enter puts it in place. Esc pauses.
How to play Dino Dig
Each dig hides a buried skeleton. There are three tools, and each one clears one layer: the shovel moves dirt, the brush sweeps away dust and the pick breaks rocks. Your child picks a tool and rubs it over the ground. If they keep using the wrong tool on a layer, the game points to the right one and switches to it, so nobody gets stuck.
Every bone that comes out of the ground goes to a tray. Then the bones are dragged onto the matching shadows to rebuild the skeleton. Once the last bone clicks into place, the dinosaur gets its skin and colours back, roars and walks off into the Dino Park.
The Dino Park and dig sites
Every finished dig adds that animal to the park, where they wander around together. Tap one and it jumps and roars. Little treasures hide in the dirt as well: shells, amber, crystals and now and then a dinosaur egg. Eggs wait in a nest in the park, and a tap hatches a baby.
There are 21 animals over three dig sites. Classic has dinosaurs like the T-rex, Triceratops and Stegosaurus. Sea and Sky, with flying and swimming reptiles, opens after four digs. Ice Age has the woolly mammoth, a sabre-tooth cat, a giant sloth and more.
Tips for grown-ups
- There is no timer, no score to beat and no way to lose. A dig takes as long as your child wants.
- Say the dinosaur's name together when it wakes up. The dig site list shows every animal, with the ones not found yet in shadow.
- The game's own ad setting is marked child-directed.
- The Ice Age dig site opens after a short ad, and the button sits in a note for grown-ups on the dig site screen. Skip it and nothing happens, and the button stays.
