How to play Dig Deep
Your little drilling pod starts at the surface. Hold left, right or down against the rock to drill through it, and hold up to fly back with your thruster. Drilling and flying both burn fuel, so keep an eye on your fuel and hull.
Ore is buried in the rock: coal and copper near the top, then iron, silver, gold and emerald, and rubies, diamonds and rare relics much deeper. Your cargo bay only holds so much, so when it is full or your fuel is low, fly back up to the Trading Post.
Selling, upgrades and dangers
At the Trading Post you sell your haul for cash, then spend it on upgrades to your drill, fuel tank, hull, cargo bay and cooling. Hard rock and basalt need a better drill before you can get through them, and bedrock cannot be drilled at all. Press Dive to refuel, repair and go down again.
Deeper is riskier. Gas pockets (greenish rock) explode a moment after you drill them, lava burns your hull, long falls hurt, and deep down it gets so hot that your hull takes damage until you buy the cooling upgrade.
Tips and tricks
- Turn back at about a quarter of a tank. Running out of fuel far from the surface is the fastest way to lose a haul.
- Drill a shaft instead of digging in circles: it gives you a straight path to fly back up.
- Fuel cells hidden in the rock refill part of your tank, so dig toward them when you are running low.
- You can watch a short ad to double the value of a haul, to teleport to the surface with your cargo if you run out of fuel, or to repair your pod and keep digging once per dive.

What happens if my pod is destroyed?
You lose the cargo you were carrying, but you keep your money and upgrades. You can start a new dive, or watch a short ad once per dive to repair the hull and keep digging.
What if I run out of fuel?
You are stranded. You can watch a short ad to teleport to the surface with your cargo, or give up the cargo and restart the trip.
