Move with the mouse, drag with your finger, or use the arrow keys / WASD. Your ship fires automatically. Space or the ✹ button fires a Nova Bomb, P pauses, M toggles sound.
How to play Nova Strike
Your starfighter fires on its own, so all you need to do is fly. Weave between alien ships, asteroids and glowing pink shots, destroy every wave and clear the level. Every fifth level ends with a boss that fires spreads, rings and rapid streams and calls in drone escorts.
- Drones fly straight at you in tight lines.
- Wavers swing up and down as they pass.
- Gunners stop, hover and aim right at you.
- Divers chase your height as they charge.
- Splitters break into two fast minis when destroyed.
- Heavies are armored hexagons that fire three-way bursts.
- Golden elites are tougher, shoot back and always drop a power-up.
Combos, power-ups and the Nova Bomb
Destroy enemies quickly to build a combo: every few kills in a row raises your score multiplier, up to x5. Getting hit resets it.
- P adds a gun barrel, up to a five-way spread.
- S gives a shield that blocks one hit.
- ♥ repairs one point of hull.
- M is a coin magnet.
- » doubles your fire rate for a few seconds.
- ✦ launches homing missiles.
Every kill also charges the Nova Bomb. When the meter is full, press Space or tap the ✹ button to wipe out enemy shots and blast everything on screen.
Ships, upgrades and daily goals
Spend coins in the Hangar to unlock new ships: the fast Viper, the heavily armored Titan and the Phantom with homing wing drones. Upgrades for damage, fire rate and armor work on every ship.
Each day brings three new missions, a growing login reward, a free supply crate every few hours and a Daily Challenge: a 90-second survival run with a special twist such as Glass Cannon or Bullet Storm. Your pilot rank goes up as you score, and every new rank pays out coins.
Tips
- Getting hit costs one gun barrel and your combo, so dodging pays off twice.
- Save the Nova Bomb for bosses and crowded moments.
- Take out gunners and golden elites first, they aim straight at you.
- Clear a level without a scratch for a Flawless coin bonus.
- Beating a boss saves a checkpoint you can continue from later.
