Safari Pairs

Flip the cards, find the animal friends!

Controls

Tap a card to flip it. Tap the pack chip to change animals, and the eyes chip to turn the peek at the start of a round on or off. Keys: arrows choose a card, Space flips it. P or Esc pauses.

How to play Safari Pairs

The cards lie face down. Tap one to flip it, then tap another. If the animals match, they hop off their cards into the scene above and leave an empty space behind. If they do not match, they turn back over.

Clear every pair to finish the round. There is no timer and no wrong-answer limit, so a child can take as long as they like. The first round has two pairs, and later rounds grow to eight. At the start of each round the cards can show their animals for a moment before they turn face down.

Packs

Each pack is a new set of animals and a new background, with the same rules. There are five packs of eight animals: Safari, Farm, Ocean, Jungle Birds and Bugs and Butterflies. Farm opens after 5 rounds, Jungle Birds after 12 and Bugs and Butterflies after 20, and a trail of paw prints shows how close the next one is. Birds and bugs flutter around the scene instead of walking.

Changing pack in the middle of a round keeps the round going with the new animals. The pack screen also holds an album of every animal your child has found.

Tips for grown-ups

  • Name the animal out loud when it flips. The picture is the puzzle, the word is a bonus.
  • Leave the starting peek on for younger children. Seeing the animals for a moment first makes a round easier.
  • The arrows and Space work on a keyboard, handy if a tap is hard to aim.
